Aluminium is 100% recyclable and, because of this, it is widely used in packaging because it is practical, clean and its eco credentials are extremely high. Cambs Recycling are committed to improving the percentage of aluminium cans recycled, currently only 42% of aluminium cans are recycled in the UK - it is our mission to recycle more.

Aluminium cans can be recycled over and over again without losing any of the metal's quality. It is 20 times more efficient to recycle aluminium than it is to make it from the raw material (bauxite). It often takes less than 6 weeks for a recycled can to be back on the shelf in a different format. One can recycled quickly can be reused 8 times a year. If all cans were recycled here in the UK we would put 14 million less bins worth of cans into landfill sites. You can see from these numbers why we are keen to recycle aluminium cans!
